The Class

HypnoBirthing: the Mongan Method

HypnoBirthing is a tried and true comprehensive childbirth education class. It was the first program to directly link using hypnosis to childbirth developed by Marie Mongan.  It is a simple and powerful program that will give you all the tools you need to prepare for a calm, gentle, and safe birth.  You will learn about the physiology of birth and how to submit to the process of birth physically and mentally.  You will learn deep relaxation and hypnosis techniques to condition yourself to slip into a state of deep relaxation and comfort during your labor. Your birth companion will also learn how to best support you on your journey. The classes are taught in 5 2 1/2 hour classes. Special arrangements can be made if you are unable to complete that amount of time.

Please dress comfortably in clothes you can move around easily in. If meeting at Two Leaves Midwifery, seating will be provided, but you may want to bring pillows/cushion to use during relaxation sessions. We will also need access to a television or laptop with a DVD player and access to the Internet. Please be sure to eat before class and prepare snacks if you know you may get hungry.  Comfort is the key!
